I would like to upgrade my subscription; how do I do this?
The method for upgrading your subscription will depend on whether you purchased your subscription via The Happy Pear website or via the App Store / Google Play Store. If you purchased your subscription via The Happy Pear website, you MUST upgrade with us. If you purchased your subscription via the App Store / Google Play Store, you MUST upgrade via that store. Failure to do so may result in you having 2 active subscriptions & 2 payments. If you're not sure which subscription you hold, please contact us on academy@thehappypear.ie
If You Purchased Your Membership Directly with The Happy Pear
If you purchased your membership via The Happy Pear online checkout, please log in to https://learn.thehappypear.ie on any device (not via the app) and then follow instructions per device type:
Laptop / PC / Mac
- Log in to https://learn.thehappypear.ie using your browser.
- Once signed in, click on your name in the top right corner of the screen.
- Click Profile
- Next, click on the Membership tab.
- Click on Subscription.
- Beside your active subscription, you'll see 3 options; Update, Change Plan & Cancel. Select "Change Plan"
- The screen will now show you the options available to you. Choose the new membership type you want. For example; if you are on Recipe Club Monthly and want to avail of our live challenges, you'll opt for Whole Health Tribe Monthly or Whole Health Tribe Annual.
- Your new subscription will be pro-rated (it takes into account what you've already paid / the length of time you've been a member). Once you input your payment details, your new subscription will automatically become your active subscription and your previous subscription will be cancelled.
- You'll receive a notification email that your account has been upgraded and your account will now show the most recent subscription.
- Please note: You can only upgrade your membership once within each payment period.
Logging into the site via mobile browser (not via the app)
- Log in to https://learn.thehappypear.ie using your browser.
- Once signed in, tap on the menu icon in the top left of the screen
- Tap on your name in the menu that opens
- Click "View Profile"
- Tap on the Membership tab.
- Tap on Subscription.
- Beside your active subscription, you'll see 3 options; Update, Change Plan & Cancel. Select "Change Plan"
- The screen will now show you the options available to you. Choose the new membership type you want. For example; if you are on Recipe Club Monthly and want to avail of our live challenges, you'll opt for Whole Health Tribe Monthly or Whole Health Tribe Annual.

If You Purchased Your Membership through the App Store / Google Play Store
If you purchased membership through the App Store / Google Play Store on your phone, then you must manage your subscription through our app. Follow the steps below to upgrade your subscription:
- Open your Happy Pear App
- On the top right-hand side, you'll see your account icon. Open this. On the drop down list, you'll see "Membership" - Choose this option.
- On the next screen, you'll see the 4 membership options available, with your current active subscription ticked in green. In the case below, the active subscription is Recipe Club Monthly.
- Once you choose your new membership type, you will be brought to the App Store / Google Play Store to complete your purchase.
- You should check that your previous subscription has cancelled as you may need to manually cancel the previous subscription within the App Store / Google Play Store. In some cases, upgrading within the app may not automatically cancel your original subscription and it is your responsibility to check this in order to avoid having 2 active subscriptions/2 payments. We do not have the capability to cancel app store subscriptions; this lies entirely with the user.
This is how you cancel your subscription in App Store on your iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings, and then tap iTunes & App Store.
- Tap your Apple ID at the top.
- Tap View Apple ID and sign in if prompted.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find and tap the subscription you would like to cancel. If you do not see one, check if you signed in with the correct Apple ID.
- Choose Cancel Subscription, or turn off Automatic Renewal.

This is how you cancel your subscription in Google Play Store on your Android phone
- Open the Google Play Store App on Android mobile phone or tablet, or go to play.google.com.
- Tap the menu button on the top left corner of the Google Play store app (3 horizontal lines).
- In the side menu that appears, tap the Subscriptions option.
- Find the relevant subscription on your list.
- Tap the 'Cancel subscription' option and follow the on-screen instructions to confirm cancellation.
